Privacy Policy

Heads Together to Help Haitians, Inc. · Last updated 30 August 2026

The short version: we ask for as little as we can, we use it only to do what you asked us to do, and we never sell it or trade it. If you would rather we forgot you entirely, write to us and we will delete your record.

What we collect, and only when you give it

Nothing on this site asks you to create an account, and we do not use advertising trackers. Information reaches us in four ways, each of which you start:

Visit statistics

We count visits so we know whether the site is reaching anyone. That counter records the page, the referring website, the chosen language, and the date. It sets no cookies, stores no network address, and cannot follow you to other sites or recognize you when you come back. A marker in your browser's session storage stops one reload from being counted twice, and it disappears when you close the tab.

What we do with it

We use what you send only to answer you, to arrange your volunteering, to send the newsletter you asked for, or to issue the receipt you requested. Donation records are kept because tax rules require an organization to be able to show what it received and what it receipted.

Who else sees it

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it with other organizations for their own use. It is handled by the small number of people who run HTHH, and it passes through the companies that host this site and deliver our email. We would disclose information if the law required it — a subpoena or court order — and not otherwise.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Submissions are stored with our hosting provider in the United States. Messages, volunteer forms and newsletter signups are kept until they are no longer useful or you ask us to remove them. Donation and receipt records are kept for at least seven years, which is the period tax authorities may ask about.

What you can ask us to do

Write to Infotetkolepouedeayisyen@gmail.com and you may ask us to:

We will answer within 30 days. You never have to explain why you are asking.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a child has sent us something, write to us and we will delete it. Young people take part in our youth programs through a parent or guardian, not through this website.

Keeping it safe

The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Everything you submit is stored behind an administrator password that is never shown to anyone and never sent by email — a password reset offers a one-time link instead. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise, but we do not keep what we do not need, which is the strongest protection there is.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
