Accessibility
A website that asks for help should not be hard to use. This one is built to work with a keyboard, with a screen reader, at large text sizes, and on a slow connection. Where it falls short we would rather hear about it than not know.
What we have done
- Everything works without a mouse. You can reach every link, button and form field with the Tab key, and the item you are on is outlined clearly. A Skip to content link is the first thing the keyboard reaches, so you do not have to walk through the menu on every visit.
- Text contrast meets the WCAG 2.1 AA ratio against its background, including the white text on the navy donate section.
- The page reflows down to a 320-pixel screen and up to 200 percent browser zoom without anything overlapping or scrolling sideways.
- Images carry alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are marked so a screen reader stays silent rather than reading a filename aloud.
- Form fields have real labels tied to them, so tapping the label focuses the field and a screen reader announces what is being asked. Errors are described in words, not by color alone.
- Motion is optional. If your device is set to reduce motion, the fade-in animations do not run.
- The site is readable in twelve languages, including Kreyòl, and the page direction flips correctly for Arabic.
- It stays usable on a slow connection. The page carries no video, no advertising scripts and no tracking, and it downloads one language rather than all twelve.
Where we know it is imperfect
We would rather list these than claim a clean sheet:
- The site has not yet been tested with a screen reader by someone who uses one daily. Automated checks and keyboard testing are not the same thing, and we know it.
- The language menu changes the page without announcing the change aloud.
- Some translated text is longer than the English it replaces and can wrap awkwardly on very narrow screens.
- No formal WCAG audit has been carried out. We aim at 2.1 level AA and believe we are close, but we have not paid anyone to confirm it, and we will not display a badge we have not earned.
Tell us when something does not work
If any part of this site keeps you from doing what you came to do, please tell us. Say what you were trying to do and what happened, and mention the device or screen reader if you know it. We will reply within five working days, and if the fix will take longer we will tell you what we are doing about it.

If the website is the obstacle, it should not stop you from reaching us or from giving. Call or write and a person will do it with you.
